The Head of State reminded that European vector of state development was fixed at the legislative level.

"The law adopted in 2010 was adopted at my own initiative. I have repeatedly said that since 1997, the program of the Party of Regions has had a strategic goal – European integration of Ukraine," the Head of State said.

According to him, the program of reforms initiated in May 2010 and the National plan of reforms are aimed at the establishment of European standards in Ukraine.

"We are fulfilling this program," Viktor Yanukovych emphasized.

At the same time he noted that "we do not always manage to make it in accordance with the schedule".

"There is one reason – any reforms require funding. When there is not enough funding, the reforms are slowed down," he said.

According to him, the reforms are the basis of success in state development. According to Viktor Yanukovych, the result of the reforms should be the improvement of the welfare of Ukrainians.

"The Government is working for that. Certainly, society will assess this work," the President noted.

The Head of State assured that the path of European integration will be continued. "It wasn't stopped and it will not be stopped. We will continue to move this way," he emphasized.

Viktor Yanukovych expressed gratitude to Leonid Kravchuk for the initiative to hold the given meeting. "I would like this discussion to be aimed at the settlement of conflict in our state. We should find the strategy of future development of the country," the President stressed.
