14 December 2017 – meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the ambassadorial level with the participation of Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Olexandr Turchinov. During the event, the issue of counteracting to Russian aggression in eastern Ukraine and the hybrid threats that now face to our country were discussed. According to the words of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, comparing to 2014, today in Ukraine is a qualitatively new army that can defend the country. Furthermore the issue of reforming the security and defense sector of Ukraine and adoption of NATO standards were discussed.
20 November 2017 – meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee. During the meeting, the representatives of our country and the Alliance discussed the rate of implementation of the tasks of the NATO-Ukraine Platform to study the experience of combating the hybrid war in Ukraine, problem issues and ways of their solution; outlined directions for cooperation in the future. The Ukrainian side familiarized the participants with the results of ensuring the Platform's activity in Ukraine, in particular, the organization of interagency coordination, preparation of practical projects within the framework of the Platform, including the publication of a scientific journalistic work "The White Book of Antiterrorist Operation in the East of Ukraine (2014 - 2016 years)".
10 July 2017 – meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the highest level with the participation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The Head of the Ukrainian Country stressed that Ukraine is confidently moving along the path of our closest neighbors who had joined NATO during the last 20 years. The President stressed that Ukraine is ready to implement an ambitious program for reforming of the defense and security sector. In his turn, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called a stable, independent, sovereign, democratic Ukraine, as a key to Euro-Atlantic security. He said that since 2014, NATO has substantially increased its support for Ukraine.
31 March 2017 – meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Foreign Ministers. During the meeting the security situation in Ukraine was discussed. Ukainian side underlined thet Russia failures to comply with its obligations under the Minsk Agreements. Equally, it was stressed on the need to continue the political and economic pressure on the Russian side. In addition, the Foreign Ministers of the Ukraine-NATO Commission discussed in detail the political and practical cooperation of our country with the Alliance. The first positive results of the implementation of the NATO Comprehensive Package for Ukraine, adopted at the Alliance's Warsaw Summit in July 2016, were announced.
17 March 2017 - meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Deputy Permanent Representatives with the participation of the deputy of Secretary of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
During the meeting an exchange of views on the current security situation in the Black Sea region was held. In particular, Russia's ongoing military escalation in the region and its use for this territory of the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea as a place of arms/springboard was discussed.
July 9, 2016 – meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Heads of State and Government with the participation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. During the meeting, the following issues were discussed: security situation in Ukraine; results achieved thus far in the reform process, particularly in the defence sector, conducted with NATO support at the backdrop of hybrid warfare with Russia; further deepening of relations and cooperation between Ukraine and NATO in the new security environment; enhancing NATO assistance in reforming Ukraine’s defence sector for mid-term perspective.
At the meeting, the Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine was endorsed, which is aimed to support reforms in the national defence and security sector, as well as the Joint Statement of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Heads of State and Government, in which Allies demonstrated their support for Ukraine, condemned Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine, committed to deepening the Distinctive Partnership with Ukraine and confirmed their support for Ukraine’s for Euro Atlantic integration aspirations.
June 15, 2016 – meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Defence Ministers with the participation of Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak. During the NUC meeting NATO side was informed about the security situation in eastern Ukraine, as well as the steps taken by the Ukrainian government to stabilize it. It was emphasized that hybrid war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine threatens not only our country but also it is challenge to security in the whole Euro-Atlantic area. Special attention during the NUC meeting was paid to the progress in implementation of the Ukraine defence reform and recently approved by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko a Strategic Defence Bulletin.
May 26, 2016 – meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Deputy Permanent Representatives with participation of the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine. The participants exchanged views on the political, social, economic and military aspects of the security situation in the Black Sea region.
May 19, 2016 – meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Chiefs of Staff with participation of Chief of General Staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko. The main attention was paid to security situation in eastern Ukraine, the provisions of the future State Target Programme for the Armed Forces of Ukraine Development untill 2022, directions of further cooperation between Ukraine and NATO on military sphere.
April 19, 2016 – meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission with the participation of Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine - Chief of Staff Vadym Prystaiko. Preparation for NATO-Ukraine summit in Warsaw and the security situation in eastern Ukraine, including in the context of the implementation of the Minsk agreements were discussed during the meeting.
March 08, 2016 – meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Defence Ministers with the participation of Minister of Defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak who briefed the representatives of the Allied countries on defence reform and the draft Strategic Defence Bulletin of Ukraine.

December 2, 2015 – meeting of NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Foreign Ministers with the participation of Foreign Minister of Ukraine P.A.Klimkin. The sides reaffirmed their commitments to deepening partnerships in the complex security situation in the east of Ukraine, discussed the format and specific areas of further cooperation between NATO and Ukraine, in particular in the framework of the preparation for the Warsaw summit. Ukrainian side presented to Member States vision of their cooperation with the Alliance in the future.
November 18, 2015 – meeting of NATO-Ukraine Commission at Ambassadorial level with the participation of the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak. NATO side was acquainted with elements of hybrid warfare and sabotage that Russia continues against Ukraine. The parties exchanged views on the development of NATO-Ukraine cooperation, including in the context of the NUC meeting of foreign ministers in December and future meetings of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the highest level within the framework of the NATO Summit in Warsaw in July 2016.
November 16, 2015 - meeting of NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee held to prepare for the meeting of the NUC at ambassadorial level on November 181.2015 p.
October 28, 2015 – meeting of NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Deputy Permanent Representatives on the state and prospects for implementation in Ukraine of NATO Building Integrity Initiative, transparency and reduction of corruption risks in the defence and security institutions. Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NAB) Artem Sytnik and First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine M.Koval took part in the meeting. Allies welcomed Ukraine's first steps to prevent and fight corruption in the national defence and security sector. They confirmed their intention to continue the assistance to our country in that direction, including to strengthen the capacity of NAB.
September 29, 2015 – meeting of Ukraine – NATO Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee with the participation of Political Director of the MFA of Ukraine O.Makeiev, during which Allies was informed about the situation in Ukraine on the background of the ongoing Russian aggression in the east of our States, in particular on progress in implementation of internal reforms and the Minsk agreements.
September 18, 2015 – meeting of the Ukraine – NATO at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee dedicated to the issues of cooperation between NATO and Ukraine in science and education, particularly in the framework of Alliance's programme "Science for Peace and Security" Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine M.Striha.
June 25, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Defence Ministers with the participation of Minister of Defence of Ukraine S.Poltorak. The participants discussed the priority issues in reforming the defence and security sector of Ukraine, the security situation in the east of Ukraine, including the prospects for a comprehensive implementation of Minsk agreements, the status of implementation of NATO assistance to Ukraine, including the respective trust funds and other programs to support Ukraine.
June 12, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee with the participation of the Director of the EU Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine V.Chentsov. The meeting was devoted to the issues in relations development between Ukraine and the EU, especially in the implementation of the Association Agreement. The Allies have shown full support for Ukraine’s European aspirations and appreciated the steps taken by the Ukrainian government to achieve the goals set by the Association Agreement with the EU.
May 13, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of foreign ministers (Antalya, Turkey) with the participation of Foreign Minister of Ukraine P.Klimkin. The participants discussed the situation in Ukraine, prospects of settlement of the crisis that was provoked by Russia, and plans for further development of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO.
Following the meeting, joint declaration, which reflected the consolidated position of foreign ministers – members of the NATO-Ukraine Commission - on the security situation in Ukraine and ways of its settlement, as well as future cooperation with our country, was adopted.
May 6, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at Ambassadorial level in order to prepare for NUC meeting at the level of foreign ministers (Antalya, Turkey on May 13, 2015). The meeting was attended by the Director of the International Security Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine S.Shutenko and the Director of the Central unit of the Security Service of Ukraine V.Naida. During the meeting, the participants in detail reviewed the state of the security situation in Ukraine against the background of Russian military aggression and exchanged the views on expectations on this regard from the ministerial meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission in Antalya. The Annual National Program of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO for 2015 was also presented during the meeting.
April 24, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee with the participation of the President of SE “Energoatom” Y.Nedashkovsky. During the meeting the participants discussed “Energoatom’s” efforts to enhance security and de-monopolise Ukrainian nuclear power sector, reduce its dependence on Russia, especially in conditions of aggressive and unpredictable Kremlin’s policy towards Ukraine.
April 24, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee with the participation of the President of Ukraine Commissioner (on peaceful settlement of the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions) I.Gerashchenko. During the meeting, the participants discussed a wide range of issues concerning the state of humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian territories, victims from Russian aggression and Russian-backed separatists in the Eastern Ukraine.
April 10, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Deputy Permanent Representatives on topical issues of energy security of Ukraine. The meeting was attended by the chairman of “Naftogaz Ukraine” A.V.Kobolyev. During the discussion, the participants discussed the progress of negotiations with Russia on gas supplies to Ukraine and the EU, the possibility of further diversification of gas supply sources and the situation and prospects of reforms according to EU natural gas market standards in Ukraine. The participants stressed that the only key to energy security is to respect integrity and transparency in gas relations and their de-politicisation by all actors, especially by Russia.
March 27, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee with the participation of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights V.Lutkovska. Ukrainian Ombudsman informed the Allies about the measures taken in Ukraine to protect human rights, especially the rights of ethnic minorities, internally displaced persons and other vulnerable groups. Particular attention was paid to the problems of fragrant human rights violations by occupying authorities in Crimea, as well as by pro-Russian armed forces in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
March 17, 2015 – Special meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at Ambassadorial level with the participation of the President of Ukraine Commissioner (on Crimean Tatar issues) M.Dzhemilev. NATO states’ representatives emphasised that Russia’s annexation of the Crimean Autonomous Republic will never be recognised by the civilised world and assured of their support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders.
March 2, 2015 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee dedicated to the discussion of the Annual National Program of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, endorsed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on 18 February. Allies emphasised the key role of this program as a tool for attracting financial, advisory and practical assistance from NATO and the allies to support the reforms effort by Ukrainian government.
January 26, 2015 – Emergency meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the request of Ukraine in accordance with Article 15 of the Charter on Distinctive Partnership between NATO and Ukraine due to the escalation of the situation in the eastern Ukraine and shelling of Mariupol. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine M.Koval. The participants of the meeting strongly condemned the actions of pro-Russian terrorists “DNR” and “LNR”, foremost their attacks on civilians, and Kremlin’s aggressive policy. Allies firmly urged Russia to stop funding the terrorists, and stop providing them with heavy arms and human resources, called on Moscow to return to the negotiating table.
Following the meeting, NATO Secretary General J.Stoltenberg delivered a statement in which he stressed the crucial importance of Ukraine to Euro-Atlantic security and confirmed permanence of NATO’s position to further support the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
December 16, 2014 - Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee, dedicated to the evaluation report on the implementation of the criteria outlined in the ‘Annual National Program of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO’ by Ukraine in 2014.
December 2, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Foreign Ministers with the participation of Foreign Minister of Ukraine P.Klimkin (via videoconference). During the meeting, the participants discussed different topics, including the current security situation across the Euro-Atlantic space, particularly in Ukraine; internal political development in Ukraine; the question of deepening cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, in particular in the field of security and defence sector reform of our country in accordance with NATO standards; immediate areas of further support from NATO to Ukraine in countering unprecedented aggression and hybrid war from Russian Federation.

November 18, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at Ambassadorial level, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (European integration issues) O.Zerkal. During the meeting, the participants discussed the results of the early parliamentary elections in Ukraine on 26 October 2014 and the pseudo-elections in the so-called “DNR” and “LNR” on 2 November 2014.
November 17, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee with the participation of the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine O.Lytvynenko and Ambassador-at-Large D.Kuleba. During the meeting, the peculiarities of Russian “hybrid war” against Ukraine, including in the information space, were discussed.
November 17, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Deputy Permanent Representatives on topical issues of energy security of Ukraine. The meeting was attended by the chairman of “Naftogaz Ukraine” A.V.Kobolyev, deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Mining I.M.Didenko and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (European integration issues) O.Zerkal.
October 22, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee with the participation of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights V.Lutkovska. The meeting was devoted to the issue of national minorities in Ukraine and respect of their rights and freedoms.
September 4, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Heads of State and Government with the participation of the President of Ukraine P.Poroshenko (within the NATO Summit in Wales). The meeting was a crucial event at the highest level against the background of Russian military intervention in Ukraine. During the meeting, the participants assessed Ukraine’s role in maintaining Euro-Atlantic security, determined the modalities of further cooperation between Ukraine and NATO and demonstrated active political and practical support for Ukraine from NATO and its member states in overcoming the current security crisis, the development of national defence and security sector and modernisation of Ukrainian Armed Forces up to NATO standards.
Following the event, the Joint Statement of the NATO – Ukraine Commission was adopted, in which the most important political elements of the decisions taken at the summit were reflected: confirmation of Russian military intervention in Ukraine and direct involvement of the regular units of Russian Armed Forces in military operations on the territory of Ukraine; official recognition that Russia’s actions are deliberate and have serious consequences for the stability and security of the entire Euro-Atlantic space; recognition of the fact that Russia supports the militants in Eastern Ukraine; unanimous support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders and categorical rejection and condemnation of Russian annexation of Crimea; call for Russia to stop supporting the militants , withdraw its troops, cease its military activity along and through the Ukrainian border and begin a meaningful dialogue with Ukrainian authorities.
August 29, 2014 – Emergency meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the request of Ukraine in accordance with Article 15 of the Charter on Distinctive Partnership between NATO and Ukraine of 1997. The meeting was held due to serious military escalation by Russia against Ukraine. During the meeting, NATO member-states unanimously agreed that Russian illegal actions are an act of aggression against Ukraine and have expressed their strong protest. It was emphasised, that during the NATO summit in Wales, concrete decisions on strengthening and increasing political and practical support from NATO to Ukraine will be announced.
Following the meeting, NATO Secretary General A.Rasmussen delivered a statement in which he confirmed the Alliance’s strong solidarity with Ukraine, condemned Russia’s continued disregard for its international obligations, called Russia to stop illegal military actions and support for armed separatists and take immediate steps for the de-escalation of the crisis.
June 25, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of foreign minister with the participation of Foreign Minister of Ukraine P.Klimkin. The topics discussed during the meeting included the political and security situation in Ukraine, Ukrainian government’s priorities in domestic and foreign policy and the modalities of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO in the new security environment.
June 5, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Political and Partnerships Committee to discuss the development of the security situation in Ukraine, Ukrainian government policy in regard to temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. During the meeting, the Allies confirmed their full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, stressed on non-recognition of Crimean annexation and confirmed the readiness to continue to provide Ukraine with assistance to overcome this security challenge.
June 3, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of defence ministers with the participation of Acting Minister of Defence of Ukraine M.Koval. The results of the meeting gave impetus to further development of practical cooperation in defence sector, launch of new projects and initiatives (establishment of trust funds, additional contribution towards existing projects).
May 21, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at Ambassadorial level, during which the Allies confirmed their strong support for the actions taken by Ukrainian government in the current difficult conditions, discussed the current political and security situation in Ukraine against the background of Russian aggression and outlined the possible directions of further political and practical support from NATO to Ukraine.
May 20, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of the Political and Partnerships Committee to discuss the political and legal aspects of Russian Black Sea Fleet stationing in Ukraine.
May 13, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of Deputy Permanent Representatives on topical issues of energy security of Ukraine. The meeting was attended by the chairman of “Naftogaz Ukraine” A.V.Kobolyev and deputy Minister of Energy and Coal Mining I.M.Didenko who informed the Allies about the most important issues that today’s energy sector of Ukraine, against the background of the ongoing Russian aggression, is facing.
April 1, 2014 – Meeting of the NATO – Ukraine Commission at the level of foreign ministers with the participation of Acting Foreign Minister of Ukraine A.Deschytsya, during which a comprehensive discussion was conducted. The topics discussed included the political and security situation in Ukraine against the background of Russian aggression, ways of intensifying cooperation between Ukraine and NATO to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country and restoration of its defence capabilities.
Following the meeting, NATO – Ukraine Commission statement and the list of specific measures under the Charter on a Distinctive Partnership to support Ukraine were adopted.
