The official graduation ceremony of the German Language Retraining Course for military personnel was held at the Lviv Institute of Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.
The German Language Course is part of the NATO-Ukraine Project on social adaptation of former military personnel, whish is implemented in the framework of NATO’s Partnership for Peace Programme.
Nine service persons from the local garrison, among them those who are about to complete the service, discharged or retired, received retraining at the 4-month long NATO-funded course, which was conducted at the West Regional Retraining and Resettlement Centre.
Background: Project on social adaptation of military personnel discharged from the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of the reform has been implemented in Ukraine for about 13 years as part of NATO's Partnership for Peace Programme.
The Project is implemented through a variety of courses, held at selected regional educational institutions, and offers vocational training, job placement assistance, information, counseling, and career guidance services to military personnel to be released, and persons already discharged from military service.
West Regional Retraining and Resettlement Centre has been operating in Lviv since 1997. In total, 2 825 military personnel were retrained at the Center, including 781 - NATO-funded.
