Military representation of the Mission, together with the NATO International Military Staff has completed the NATO award review process with regard to the personnel of naval contingents of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who participated in NATO naval operations in 2013.

These awards attest to the NATO's high appreciation of Ukrainian sailors’ contribution to global security as well as the level of professionalism and military preparedness of crews of frigate Hetman Sagaidachny and anti-submarine corvette Ternopil.

In the near future awards will be given to Ukrainian sailors to recognise their excellence in successful execution of tasks in the framework of the counter-piracy Operation Ocean Shield off the Horn of Africa and in the Gulf of Aden and the anti-terrorist Operation Active Endeavour in the Mediterranean.
