Following the meetings of the North Atlantic Council and the NATO-Russia Council, held on 5 March 2014 at NATO HQ, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen announced the Alliance’s decision to suspend military-political cooperation with Russia due to its actions on Ukraine’ sovereign territory.

Further steps by the Alliance as regards Russia will be discussed during the NATO Foreign Ministers’ meeting in April 2014.
