According to the decision of the North-Atlantic Council on 12 March, 2014 NATO Civil Emergency Planning Committee held an extraordinary meeting with Ukraine.
Development of the situation in the regions of Ukraine, where further increase of illegal military presence of Russia takes place, was discussed along with the possible impact of those events on security of the civil population throughout the territory of our state.
In this context ways of providing assistance to Ukraine in civil emergency situation, if it takes place, were discussed.
Besides that the Committee considered the issue of protecting critical infrastructure in case of absence of steps by Russia to de-escalate the tension.
NATO Civil Emergency Planning Committee unanimously confirmed readiness to quickly react on Ukraine's request for practical and material support.
