A regular meeting of the Group of Friends of Ukraine in NATO at the level of Deputy Permanent Representatives was heldat NATO Headquarters in Brussels on 29 April 2014.

During the meeting, medium- and long-term measures were agreed upon to ensure the proper implementation of the decisions of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in the format of Ukraine-NATO Commission of 1 April to provide our state maximum practical support.

Note: the format of the Group of Friends of Ukraine in NATO was created at the initiative of Lithuania for the first time in the history of relations between Ukraine and NATO. Against the background of the Allies’ unanimous support to Ukraine, the main task of the Group of Friends is to facilitate the use by Ukraine of the extra opportunities offered by the Allies in conditions of Russia’s aggressive actions.

The Group of Friends includes Lithuania, Poland, the USA, Canada, Latvia, Hungary, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Turkey, Denmark, Romania, Czech Republic.

First meeting of the Group of Friends of Ukraine in NATO took place in the framework of the NATO Foreign Affairs Ministers meeting on 1 April 2014.
