Head of Mission of Ukraine to NATO, Ambassador Ihor Dolhov met today with a group of students of Advanced Strategic Leadership Studies Program of the US School of Advanced Military Studies, who are visiting NATO HQ in Brussels.

The meeting focused on the changes in the security environment in the Euro-Atlantic area due to Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine. Ambassador Dolhov informed the participants about the practical steps taken by Ukrainian authorities aiming at finding a solution to the crisis in eastern Ukraine, including through the implementation of the Peace Plan ofPresident of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. In this context, the importance further support of the international community for Ukraine was stressed. The Head of Mission of Ukraine to NATO expressed gratitude for the unprecedented strong political and practical support for Ukraine from NATO and individual Allies at this difficult time.

Besides, Ambassador Dolhov informed representatives of the US Armed Forces of the current state of Ukraine's cooperation with NATO, the results of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Heads of State and Government, held in the framework of the NATO Summit in Wales on 4 September, as well as of the prospects of further deepening of NATO-Ukraine cooperation, especially in developing defence capabilities of our country, modernizing its Armed Forces and reaching maximum interoperability between the armed forces of Ukraine and NATO. A special emphasis was placed on the practical aspects of cooperation in the implementation of decisions taken following the NATO-Ukraine Commission meeting at the highest level.
