The current state and future directions for the Alliance help to our country in the field of civil protection and protection of critical infrastructure on the background of Russian aggression were discussed during the meeting.
In addition to the delegations of NATO Member States the meeting was also attended by the representatives of national emergency services of Austria, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland and Finland.
Ukrainian delegation was headed by First Deputy Chairman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mr. A.Boyko.
The agenda of the meeting included the following questions:
- Strengthening of the Ukraine's capacity and practical help of NATO in ensuring the protection of civilians, displaced from the areas of our country which are occupied and controlled by the terrorist groups;
- The protection of critical infrastructure vulnerable on the background of Russian aggression and actions of the terrorist groups supported by Russia.
During the meeting of the Emergency Planning Committee the readiness to continue to provide the comprehensive support to Ukraine in order to overcome the crisis caused by the aggressive actions were underlined.
The event in this format took place for the first time in the history of NATO-Ukraine cooperation in planning for emergencies.
