The main tasks of NATO contact point embassy are:
- distribution of information about the Alliance and its policy;
- organization of special educational events about the Alliance and its relations with contact countries;
- cooperation with the local media, governments and non-governmental organizations to provide the objective information about the Alliance.

Acting as the NATO contact point embassy, diplomatic mission of Lithuania in Ukraine is going to pay special attention to work in the regions.

The Embassy of Poland served as NATO contact point embassy during 2011-2014.
