Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses protest against the decision of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation to send the case of Ms.Savchenko Nadiya for consideration by the Donetsk City Court of Rostov region.

It is obvious that all the fabricated charges against her will be denied by her lawyers during the trial. But Russia seeks at all costs to hide a political massacre of people's deputy of Ukraine, member of Ukraine's delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from the attention of the international community and human rights organizations.

By above mentioned decision Russia once again demonstrated its disregard of the universally recognized principles of democracy, justice, the rule of law and transparency.

We are also outraged by the fact that the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation approved more absurd accusations which were recently issued by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on her alleged killing Russian citizens – Mr. I.Kornelyuk amd Mr.A. Voloshyn (previously N.Savchenko was accused of assistance in killing those people). Now the Russian side strongly indicates that those individuals "were RTR correspondents ", but in the indictment there is no indication that they were killed while performing official duties (including journalism).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine demands from the Russian side to immediately release Ms.Nadiya Savchenko and ensure full compliance with its obligations under international law and Minsk agreements.
