NATO and Ukraine agreed on strengthening defence-technical co-operation
23 September 2015 14:19

Joint Declaration on strengthening NATO-Ukraine defence-technical co-operation was signed in the framework of the visit to Ukraine of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

From the Ukrainian side the document was signed by Oleg Gladkovskyi, the Chairman of the Interagency Commission for Policy on Military-Technical Co-operation and Export Controls under the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, and from the NATO side by Ernest J. Herold, the NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Defence Investment.

The document outlines the priority areas of cooperation and is aimed at improving the interoperability in the armaments domain, as well as at providing the advisory assistance to Ukraine in reforming its defence industry complex to effectively address the needs of the security and defence sector of Ukraine.

NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov emphasized that signing of the Declaration “will help to remove artificial subjective constraints in this important sphere”.
