The meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee was held at NATO headquarters. Political Director of the MFA of Ukraine O.Makeiev took part in the meeting from the Ukrainian side.
During the meeting O.Makeiev, in particular, informed NATO's allies about the progress in implementation of comprehensive reforms in the internal life of Ukraine, which are very important for ensuring of our country's ability to resist the Russian aggression.
Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Minsk agreements and it was stressed the importance of conducting of local elections on 25th of October in accordance with the Ukrainian national legislation.
Representatives of the NATO member states confirmed their continued support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, the willingness to continue to provide practical assistance to our country on the path of reforms, particularly in reforming of the national security and defense sector.
Allies praised the efforts of the Ukrainian side towards the implementation of the Minsk agreements. It was agreed to extend the pressure on Russia to enforce the ceasefire, the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line and to ensure full access of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to control this process.
