He stressed that Ukraine’s goal is to become a de-facto member of the North-Atlantic Alliance: "Presently, the standards in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, training in the UAF entirely comply with the standards of NATO Member States".

"It is the shortest way for Ukraine to obtain membership in the Alliance", explained the Head of Government.

"I believe that the reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is conducted by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine and supervised by the President, will result in granting to Ukraine both a de facto and de jure membership in the Alliance", concluded Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
