Chairman of the Board “Naftogaz Ukraine”Andrew Kobolyev took part in the NATO-Ukraine Commission on energy security issues.
During the meeting there was a frank exchange of views on the most pressing issues of European energy security.
A.Kobolyev informed Allies about the progress achieved in reforming of "Naftogaz Ukraine" and gas market in Ukraine, creation of conditions for attracting investment in gas production and energy efficiency in Ukraine, as well as measures to diversify sources of gas delivery.
Allies welcomed results achieved by Ukrainian side on the ways of reforming the internal market.
Special attention was paid to plans for the implementation of the Russian project to build a new gas pipeline "Nord Stream-2". Ukrainian party and a number of member countries share the concern that this project can destroy the energy security of Ukraine and the EU.
Chairman of "Naftogaz Ukraine" stressed that Ukraine will remain a reliable partner for European countries in gas transit. He also noted the need to strengthen Ukrainian and European energy solidarity.
At the meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission the sides decided to continue active dialogue on energy security issues.
