The document was signed on September 22, 2015 in the course of the visit of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to Ukraine.

The abovementioned agreement provides for the establishment of the NATO mission to Ukraine that will include the NATO Liaison Office and the NATO Information and Documentation Centre. The new diplomatic institution and its staff shall enjoy privileges, immunities and assistance provided for the diplomatic missions pursuant to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
