NATO-Ukraine Commission meeting at Ambassadorial level was held at NATO Headquarters. Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko took part in the event. The subjects of discussion were the situation in the east of Ukraine and in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the prospects of the Minsk process.
The main topic of the meeting was a new wave of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The aggravation of the security situation in the east of Ukraine caused by armed provocations of pro-Russians militants was discussed.
It was stated that Russia's political, military and logistical support to illegal militant groups that captured and terrorize some territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of our country is a direct violation of the Minsk agreements.
Exchange of information on large-scale military activity of Russia near the borders of Ukraine and NATO took place.
Allies unanimously condemned the ongoing Russian aggression, emphasized non-recognition of the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, expressed their determination to support Ukraine in difficult security conditions, once again urged Russia to fulfil its obligations under the Minsk agreements.
There was a frank discussion of the progress of domestic reforms in Ukraine. NATO welcomed this progress and encouraged Ukraine to continue this process. Allies underlined that they would continue to provide active political and practical support to our country in this context.
