Ukraine and NATO have agreed to introduce a special mode of air situation data exchange during the EURO 2012 European Football Championship.
Taking into account the real need to ensure effective control over airspace during EURO 2012 in Ukraine and Poland, in coordination with the headquarters of the NATO Strategic Command Operations (Mons, Belgium), from June 5, within a month, Ukraine will exchange date on air situation within the 200-nautical-mile zone of responsibility, while obtaining in the same mode data on air objects over the countries bordering Ukraine, in particular, over Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
The mutual exchange of air data would promote the transparency of airspace, minimize possible cases of its infringement, reduce incidents during international flights and be an effective tool to combat air terrorism.
