An exhibition highlighting the devastating impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine on children was opened at NATO Headquarters.
23 May 2023 18:26

The exhibition a series of powerful photographs by Ukrainian photographers that document the effects of the war on civilians, including families torn apart by violence, children being killed, homes and schools destroyed. Another component of the exhibition is a creative installation showing destroyed streets.

Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO, Ambassador Nataliia Galibarenko in her opening speech drew attention to the crimes Russia commits against Ukrainian children: «Russia demonstrates a devilish level of creativity in finding ways to punish Ukrainians. Thousands of cases of illegal deportation of Ukrainian children have been reported, hundreds of them were transported to Russia or relocated to temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. It only takes three days to adopt a Ukrainian child in the Russian Federation. And you can imagine how difficult if not impossible it is to investigate such cases and ensure that these children will come back to their parents in Ukraine.

This is precisely why international accountability is of utmost importance, and why we are tirelessly working towards bringing justice to all those who need it».
