On February 12, as part of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to NATO Headquarters, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Zagorodnyuk held a working meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Latvia Artis Pabriks.

Andriy Zagorodnyuk expressed words of gratitude to his Latvian colleagues for consistent support of Ukraine, as well as for providing material and advisory assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and rehabilitation of Ukrainian military in Latvia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed defense cooperation in areas of public procurement, training of Ukrainian military, cyber security and territorial defense.

Andriy Zagorodnyuk informed Latvian delegation about the current security situation in Ukraine and the state of reform of the Defense Ministry. In this context, the Ukrainian side outlined perspective directions of cooperation between the defense agencies of Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia.

Latvian counterparts expressed their full support for Ukraine’s readiness to join NATO’s Enhanced Opportunity Program (EOP).
