17 June 2026 23:55

In Brussels, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The Head of State informed the Secretary General about important meetings with partners at the G7 Summit and the measures agreed to be implemented regarding support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is counting on receiving additional interceptors and missiles for Patriot systems. According to the President, work is ongoing to secure U.S. licenses for the production of air defense equipment.

The implementation of the PURL initiative and adding new contributions from partners to it were also discussed, along with efforts to develop Europe’s own anti-ballistic capabilities.

The President thanked the NATO Secretary General for his support and for the invitation to the NATO Summit to be held in Ankara in July. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mark Rutte discussed how to enhance the effectiveness of the summit for Ukraine’s defense.
