On 20th of February, a screening of the film "Second Wind" took place at NATO Headquarters.
The event was jointly organized by the Permanent Representation of France to NATO and the Mission of Ukraine to NATO. Opening remarks were delivered by David Cvach, Permanent Representative of France to NATO, Alyona Getmanchuk, Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO, as well as the film’s director, Masha Kondakova, and producer, Gena Gazin.
They emphasized both the importance of remembering the price Ukrainians are paying to defend our shared freedom and the need to support veterans on their path to rehabilitation.
“On the battlefield, Ukrainian soldiers have demonstrated devotion, determination, and an unbreakable spirit time and again. But their strength does not end there. Beyond the battlefield, they show something equally powerful — an indomitable will to live, to recover, and to move forward. After four years of such a brutal war, I do not think I need to convince anyone in this room that Ukrainians are truly invincible, and this film only confirms it,” Alyona Getmanchuk reminded the audience in her remarks.
Two of the film’s main protagonists were also present at NATO Headquarters, and following the screening, guests had the opportunity to speak with them directly. Second Wind is not only about recovery.
It is about dignity, courage, and redefining what strength truly means.
