Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO, Ambassador I.Dolhov visited NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR) as a member of the delegation of the North Atlantic Council and ambassadors of KFOR contributing nations, chaired by NATO Secretary General A.Rasmussen.
The programme of the visit included, in particular, meetings with commander of KFOR V.Halbauer, Head of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) B.Borchardt, Prime Minister of Kosovo H.Thaçi, Minister for the Kosovo Security Force A.Çeku, Minister for Communities and Returns D.Jevtić, as well as representatives of international organizations working in Kosovo.
During the meetings the discussion focused on the topical issues of political and security situation in the province, the progress of the agreement on normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina, current and future KFOR activities, perspectives on achieving full operational capability of Kosovo Security Force etc.
The Ambassadors of the North Atlantic Council and of the KFOR contributing nations visited the Patriarchate of Peć, which is one of the nine sites of special cultural and religious heritage in Kosovo protected by UNESCO, where they discussed the process of transfer of the guarding responsibility of this historic site from KFOR to Kosovo Security Force.
While in Kosovo, Ambassador I.Dolhov met with the commander of the Ukraine’s national contingent in KFOR and discussed the fulfilment of the contingent’s tasks in the operation area.
