On 24 September 2013 during a visit to New York for the UN General Assembly session, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych met with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

“We have drawn conclusion of cooperation. Ukraine fulfils all promises,” the Head of State noted in the course of his conversation with media representatives in New York commenting his meeting with NATO Secretary General.

According to the President, in the course of the meeting the parties discussed defence reform of Ukraine and preparations for the Summit NATO-Ukraine to be held in 2014.

Besides, the President of Ukraine informed that the Ukrainian Navy frigate Hetman Sagaidachny had already been sent to be deployed in the NATO-led counter-piracy Operation Ocean Shield.
