During a series of meetings with high representatives of the Alliance and NATOMemberStates, Mustafa Dzhemilev reaffirmed the Crimean Tatar people’s support for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. He also pointed out at unacceptability of the Russian military intervention in Ukraine’s Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which completely destabilized life of people on the peninsula.
Mr.Dzhemilev called for a prompt de-escalation of the situation and asked NATO to provide the maximum possible assistance in this regard.
The Leadership of the Alliance assured the Ukrainian side in their strong and unanimous support for the territorial integrity of our country and strongly condemned the actions of the Russian Federation, which violate all norms of international law and Ukrainian-Russian agreements.
The Leader of the Crimean Tatar National Movement also met with the ambassadors of NATO Member States and briefed them on the current situation in Ukraine’s Autonomous Republic of Crimea due to military intervention by Russia.
Mustafa Dzhemilev answered numerous questions put to him by the ambassadors, emphasizing that the Crimean Tatars want to see their future in their own land and exclusively in a united democratic Ukraine.
Besides, while at NATO Headquarters, Mr. Dzhemilev held a briefing for representatives of Ukrainian and foreign mass media.
