Ihor Kabanenko, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, held talks with General Knud Bartels, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.
The parties discussed security in Ukraine, state of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and challenges within the context of current crisis situation, as well as issues of intensification of NATO-Ukraine cooperation.
Ihor Kabanenko spoke about measures taken by the Ukrainian high military officials.
General Knud Bartels remarked considerable contribution of Ukraine to peacekeeping maintenance in Afghanistan and Kosovo, Alliance’s readiness to provide comprehensive advisory and material support to Ukraine in order to increase Ukraine’s defense capabilities and further transformation of the Armed Forces under current challenges.
The parties agreed to continue cooperation of military structures of the NATO and the NATO Nations with Ukraine within existing programs and plans as well as develop new prospective defense and military projects.
