That was stated by the NATO Secretary General at the Press Point following his visit to Ukraine on 7 August 2014.
During a visit to Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen invited Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to the upcoming NATO summit in Wales (4-5 September 2014).
He stated that as a sign of strong support and solidarity of the Alliance for Ukraine it had been decided to hold a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the highest level in the framework of NATO summit in September. Anders Fogh Rasmussen expressed his hope a joint declaration would be adopted to outline areas where NATO and Ukraine would enhance their cooperation in the coming years, including assistance to build-up capacity and modernize the Ukrainian armed forces and the security sector.
NATO Secretary General stressed that was looking forward to meet with President Poroshenko at the September summit which would contribute to making NATO-Ukraine partnership even stronger.
