Because of importance to be present this day in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the approvement of the most democratic and pro-European government in the history of Ukraine, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin took part in the NUC in video conference format.
Such a format is common working practice within the Alliance, but has never been used with Ukraine.
For us, it’s a testimony to the readiness of both sides to go further in political and practical interaction. To gradually transform the ceremonial approach into a normal working mode used between real friends and partners who have real trust and confidence between them.
During the meeting, the current security situation in the Euro Atlantic area, especially in Ukraine, internal political development in our country, as well as the deepening of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, in particular in the area of security sector reform and defense of our country were discussed.
During the NUC meeting the Joint statement was adopted.
