Arseniy Yatsenyuk met NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels

In the framework of his visit to Brussels on 15 December Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met newly appointed NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

During the joint press-conference following the meeting at NATO Headquarters Prime Minister A.Yatsenyuk told that Ukrainian Government appreciates support of NATO and member-states of Alliance in defending territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine: "We appreciate the efforts on implementation of four trust funds for Ukraine aimed at enhancing capabilities of the Ukrainian Army and supporting veterans of anti-terrorist operation and those involved in the ATO".

Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed that during his meeting with NATO Secretary General he requested additional assistance in "development of a new defense and national security strategy for Ukraine": "We call for more help for the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to improve capabilities of the Armed Forces Ukraine Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine".

Mr. Yatsenyuk underlined the necessity of full implementation of Minsk agreements by the Russian Federation: "We believe that the best solution to the conflict in the Eastern Ukraine - it is when Russia fulfils the Minsk agreements, close the border, withdraw its troops and agents, stops supplying leathal weapons and equipment to Russia-back terrorists".

"Formula on the one hand, is simple, and on the other - is very effective. We appeal to the Russian President and the Russian authorities to execute the agreements and start a real peace process in Ukraine ", - said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
