"I wanted my first activity as President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to reinforce the Assembly’s strong and consistent support for Ukraine's independence in the face of Russia's continuing efforts to destabilise Ukraine and undermine its sovereignty," - said M.Turner.
A message about the visit of the newly elected President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly M.Turner to Ukraine on 15-16 December was posted on the official web site of the NATO PA - http://www.nato-pa.int/Default.asp?CAT2=0&CAT1=0&CAT0=0&SHORTCUT=3664.
The main signal - confirmation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's support to Ukraine in opposition to the ongoing aggression by Russia and its attempts to further destabilize, undermine the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of our country.
It was also emphasized that the such position was clearly expressed by the Assembly in the statement adopted during the Annual Session in The Hague three weeks ago. This statement reflects the views of all parliamentarians and their sincere desire to help Ukraine. It strongly condemned the illegal and unjustified occupation of Crimea by Russia and systemic violation by Russia its obligations under the Minsk agreements.
