O.Makeyev attended a meeting of the NATO Committee on Public Diplomacy and spoke at the conference "The war in Ukraine: where are we now and where are we going?", organized by the Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels and the Martens Centre. He also held several bilateral meetings at NATO Headquarters and in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium.

During these events O.Makeyev stressed that the crisis in eastern Ukraine provoked by Russia is not our country's internal problem or a Ukrainian-Russian conflict but the threat to the European security. He also highlighted that in order to confront the aggressor and protect European values Ukraine requires not only political but also military support from its EU and NATO partners.
