President of the State Enterprise “National Nuclear Energy Generating Company “Energoatom” Yuriy Nedashkovsky attended a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee.
The efforts of "Energoatom" aimed at strengthening the security sector and de-monopolization of the nuclear power sector in Ukraine, as well as at reducing its dependence on Russia, especially in the context of aggressive and unpredictable Kremlin's policy towards our country, were discussed during the meeting.
Special attention was paid to the possibilities of deepening cooperation between Ukraine and NATO in this sphere. In this regard, the participants of the meeting noted the importance of the implementation of the recommendations made by the NATO Advisory Group following its visit to Ukraine in April last year.
The discussion was held in a frank and constructive manner. Given the considerable interest of NATO allies to this issue, it was agreed to continue consultations.
