The event was co-chaired by NATO Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Terry Stamatopoulos and Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense of Ukraine, Colonel-General M.V.Koval.
During the meeting, the representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed the NATO side about the current situation in zone of anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, as well as the role and place of international organizations to monitor the security situation in our country.
The results of Comprehensive Review of the Security and Defence Sector of Ukraine and prospects of its reformation with the support of NATO and EU member countries were discussed.
Representatives of NATO Member States emphasized the key role of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Working Group on Defence Reform for Ukraine's practical cooperation with the Alliance. They also underlined the importance of strengthening the defense potential of Ukraine and identified areas of further cooperation.
