During the meeting V. Vasylenko spoke about the history of the founding of the first diplomatic Ukrainian institution in the Benelux countries and the Ukrainian representatives to the EU and NATO. Zenon Koval’, a Belgian diplomat of Ukrainian origin, who worked as an advisor on culture in the first Embassy of Ukraine in the Benelux countries between 1993 and 1995, also took part in the discussion.

As Ambassador Vasylenko has said, despite the high public support in Ukraine for joining NATO, it is essential today to continue conducting appropriate information campaigns.

During the discussion with the Ukrainian diaspora, a number of issues related to internal security and political situation in Ukraine, its foreign policy priorities and topical issues in international relations were discussed.
