The Program has to ensure coordinated and complex development of Ukraine’s cooperation with NATO in all spheres of mutual interaction.

The Program identifies political aims of Ukraine-NATO partnership as well as directions of their cooperation in the sphere of international security (international peacekeeping operations, countering terrorism, arms control, ecological security).

The Program also reflects the key steps in the process of implementing political, economic and social reforms in the country, the main elements of national security and defense policy.

Annual National Program of NATO-Ukraine cooperation for 2016 identifies goals, objectives and practical measures to reform the security and defense sector and improve the Ukraine's defense level, which will be implemented in cooperation with NATO by central executive bodies.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is tasked to ensure coordination of implementation of the Annual National Program.
