Co-Chairs of NATO-Ukraine Interparliamentary Council praise deepening of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO

The meeting of NATO-Ukraine Interparliamentary Council is underway and the 92nd Rose-Roth seminar "Transforming Ukraine into a troubled regional context" was held in Kyiv.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii noted the dynamic development of NATO-Ukraine parliamentary cooperation and thanked to NATO side for its consistent support of Ukraine's territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty. He stressed that to promote active reforming of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during each plenary week Ukrainian Parliament adopted the legislation aimed at the strengthening of the defence of our country.

A.Parubii drew attention to the fact that the rate of public support for Ukraine's membership in NATO is growing. This fact indicates a fundamental change in consciousness of Ukrainian citizens in recent years.

Following the meeting co-chairs of the NATO-Ukraine Interparliamentary Council issued a joint statement which reaffirmed support for the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine, condemned the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation and supported the continuation of sanctions against Russia till its full return to international law, and called on Alliance's member states to increase assistance to Ukraine at the bilateral level.
