The delegation included First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Co-Chair of Inter-Parliamentary Council Ukraine-NATO I. Gerashchenko, Head of the Permanent Delegation of VRU in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly I. Friz and members of the Permanent Delegation O.Belkova, Y. Bereza, O. Skrypnyk.

During the visit Ukraine's MPs met with NATO Deputy Secretary General R. Gottemoeller, Secretary General of the NATO PA D.Hobbs, Deputy NATO Secretary General for Public Diplomacy T. Ildem, representatives of NATO International Staff, permanent representatives of the NATO membeer-states and partner countries.

During the meeting, Ukrainian parliamentarians stressed the priority of security in the occupied Donbas and Crimea. They informed NATO side about abuse of human rights in these territories by the members of illegal armed formations.

Also, specific facts about violation of regime of “silence” by the pro-Russian militants in Donbas were provided. In addition, stressed that observation technique of SMM of OSCE requires considerable technical improvement and strengthening, including drones and surveillance cameras in the temporarily occupied territory.

They discussed issues of immediate release of hostages in Ukrainian ORDLO (Separate districts of Donbas and Lugansk regions) and access to them by international humanitarian missions.

The visit also raised a number of other important issues, including strengthening cooperation with NATO in the energy and environmental fields.

The militarization of the Crimea Autonomous Republic of Ukraine occupied by Russia and signs that may indicate a move there nuclear and chemical weapons was discussed.
