Photo exhibition "Children in War" was opened at NATO Headquarters

The event was opened by Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze and Assistant NATO Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Tacan Ildem. The exhibition was organized by the Mission of Ukraine to NATO in cooperation with the Baltic-Black Sea Security Cofederation with support of Ukrainian State Enterprise "Energoatom".

The winners of the "Games of the heroes" participated in the event.

I.Klympush-Tsintsadze in opening remarks said that today one in eight Ukrainian child affected by the conflict in eastern Ukraine, nearly 250,000 children - internally displaced and 100,000 children live in the contact zone and face the constant threat of suffering from mines and ammunition.

Given the fact that one of the main causes of death among children is triggering explosive objects, Deputy Prime Minister thanked the NATO side for the assistance provided to Ukraine in humanitarian demining. According to her, this is an example that Alliance remains loyal friend to Ukraine and always willing to help.

In his turn, Assistant NATO Secretary General T.Ildem stressed that the international community can not forget that the Russian aggression against Ukraine continues and people continue to die in Eastern Ukraine. According to T.Ildem full implementation of the Minsk agreements are the only way to restore peace.
