December 18, 2012 the meeting of NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of permanent representatives to discuss the results of implementation of Annual National Program for NATO-Ukraine cooperation in 2012 took place in NATO HQ.
In his speech, the Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO, Ambassador Igor Dolhov outlined the main results of Ukraine's implementation of ANP-2012. Ambassador Dolhov said that Ukrainian authorities consider ANP as an effective mechanism to continue internal reforms in the security, defense, economic, legal and other areas. The program reflects the specific task of the President of Ukraine aimed to fulfilling of wide-ranging domestic reforms and the policy guidelines of the Government of Ukraine.
Allied representatives positively assessed mutually beneficial practical cooperation and political dialogue between NATO and Ukraine. In particular there was underlined contribution of Ukraine into peacekeeping and security NATO-led operations as well as emphasized the willingness to continue assistance and support in the reforming and restructuring of the Ukrainian state, which is the key to stability and security in the Euroatlantic area.
During the discussion special attention was paid to the following Ukraine's chairmanship of the OSCE, emphasized the importance of NATO's interaction with this board.
