During the event, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the Head of Ukraine's Mission to NATO, Natalia Galibarenko, addressed the Permanent Representatives of the Allies, as well as representatives of the International Staff and NATO Military Staff.
“But these 1000 days have also been a testimony of the unbreakable spirit of Ukraine. They have been days of fighting, bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering hope. Days that have proven the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people. For 1000 days, Ukraine has defied the odds.
Ukraine’s victory must be a shared goal—a victory for all who believe in the principles of human dignity and justice. It is in our hands to make this victory a reality,” said the Head of Mission.
The audience was also presented with a symbolic digital artwork created by artist Andrej Babenko in collaboration with Ukrainian influencers invited to NATO Headquarters. This work reflected the associations of Ukrainians and foreign partners regarding Ukraine's fight against the aggressor, the courage and heroism of the Ukrainian people and the desire for freedom and independence.
An exhibition of Andriy Babenko's works dedicated to Ukraine was also opened at NATO Headquarters to mark the date. His paintings convey through art both the tragedies of war and the hope for victory and reflect the unique spirit of the Ukrainian people.
