Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Vsevolod Chentsov, paid his first visit to NATO Headquarters in his new capacity. He held meetings with NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska, Assistant Secretary General for Operations Christian Buck, and the Permanent Representatives of several NATO Allies, including the United Kingdom, Canada and Norway.

During the meetings, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences, secure further contributions to the PURL initiative, and make effective use of NATO mechanisms to address Ukraine’s urgent defence needs. The discussions covered the development of joint projects through NSATU, JATEC and NATO’s Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine (CAP), as well as the exchange of experience between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and those of NATO Allies.

Vsevolod Chentsov emphasised that, with winter approaching, support for Ukraine is becoming particularly important amid daily Russian strikes. The discussions also focused on hybrid threats posed by Russia to European NATO Allies and the need for a coordinated response.

The meetings also addressed the long-term development of Ukraine’s relations with the Alliance, including deeper political engagement and expanded practical cooperation. This is essential both to strengthening Ukraine’s defence today and to enhancing the shared security of Ukraine and NATO Allies in the future.
