On 4th of August 2020 Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO Georgiy Tolkachov met with General Manager of NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) Kevin Scheid to discuss topical issues on the Ukraine-NATO agenda.

During the meeting the draft Memorandum of agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the NATO Communications and Information Agency related to co-operation on C4ISR was submitted for further cooperation.

K.Scheid was handed over for approval the License Agreement relating to release of NATO software JEMMbetween the NCIA and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, signed by the Ukrainian side. The implementation of this Agreement will facilitate the integration of the national troops training system to the NATO training system.

There was discussed the possibility of involving Ukrainian companies, including IT companies, in joint projects with the NATO Communications and Information Agency and participation in tenders and bids under the auspices of the NCIA, both for the needs of the Alliance and NATO member states and partners.

NCIA was established on 1 July 2012 as part of a NATO reform by merging several Alliance units responsible for maintaining the communications system. Today, the Agency's main tasks are to ensure and protect the communications system within NATO and in member countries, to carry out the Alliance's technological transformation, including the so-called digital endeavor program, and to involve industry and companies in modern digital infrastructure projects and countering cyber threats.
