On 28 October 2013, a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of Political and Partnerships Committee in the format of Planning and Review Process (PARP) was held at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

Ukrainian delegation led by Director of Defence Ministry’s Military Policy and Strategic Planning Department, Mr. Oleksandr Zatynaiko participated in the meeting. The delegation consisted of representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, State Emergency Service of Ukraine and Internal troops of the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine.

In the course of the meeting its participants discussed issues relating to defence policy, defence budget, the development of Ukraine’s national defence and security sector, our country’s participation in NATO-led operations and missions etc.

As a result of the meeting a draft Assessment Report on Ukraine’s participation in PARP in 2013 was preliminary approved to be submitted to the North Atlantic Council for its final adoption. This document’s content will also serve as a basis for taking stock of the progress in implementing the objectives of the Annual National Programme of NATO-Ukraine Cooperation for 2013 in defence and security spheres.
