On 4-6 November 2013, a team of NATO experts visited Ukraine with a view to analyzing the Self Assessment Survey on risks of corruption, that had been completed by Ukraine.
The visit was conducted in the framework of our country’s participation in the NATO Building Integrity Initiative on sstrengthening transparency, accountability and integrity and reducing the risk of corruption in the defence and security sector.
The team of NATO experts was composed of representatives of Latvia, Belgium and Poland and led by BI Initiative Coordinator in the NATO International Staff.
During the visit NATO experts met with representatives of senior management and departments of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, who deal with the issues of preparation for the deployment of peacekeeping troops, budget planning, procurement, economic activities and alienation of property.
NATO’s recommendations based on the results of the Self Assessment are expected to be submitted to the Ukrainian side by the end of December 2013.
