NATO-Ukraine Military Committee meeting at the level of Military Representatives took place at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
The participants discussed current and future participation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the NATO-led operations and the NATO Response Force, as well as the reforms and the development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces management system.
The Military Representatives were informed about participation of Ukrainian national contingents and personnel in NATO-led peacekeeping operations in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean.
Major General Anatoliy Petrenko, Military Representative, Ukraine’s Mission to NATO, spoke about the Ukraine’s eventual contribution to the NATO Response Force in 2015-2016.
Major General Olexander Sirsky, First Deputy Chief of Central Command Center of Ukrainian Armed Forces, informed on the primary tasks and the structure of the management system of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, its prospects, and the organization of crisis response system. He paid attention to forces and capabilities management and national contingents control, shared the experience of implementation of the best military standards and defined the cooperation prospects.
The Alliance Military Representatives supported Ukraine’s striving to reforms and further development of the Armed Forces management system while increasing its efficiency and implementing up-to-date digital data exchange and processing technologies etc.
