Important projects in the field of healthcare of Ukraine, which are in compliance with the North Atlantic Alliance goals and have a security focus, may be supported by NATO in the framework of the program "Science for Peace and Security".
This issue was discussed at a meeting of the representative of the NATO Emerging Security Challenges Division, head of the program "Science for Peace and Security" Eyüp Turmus, Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Yuriy Savko and the leading experts of the Ministry.
According to E.Turmus the program is being implemented in the framework of the NATO’s program "Partnership for Peace". In Ukraine it concerns the application of international standards for the treatment of gas-gangrene and prosthetics, because the Ukrainian solders who took part in Anti-terrorist operation have damaged limbs and require immediate treatment and long-term rehabilitation. He underlined, that another important project aimed at development of telemedicine in Ukraine can be elaborated.
In his turn, Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Y.Savko stressed the importance of international support for Ukraine in this sphere, especially in this difficult time for our country.
